My Work in Progress

February 24, 2018

Trying to explain your work in progress is rather difficult when you've only just begun. So let's keep this brief.

I am writing a thriller set in Tokyo. One day, as Nazuna is walking through the woods of Aokigahara, she discovers the body of a young woman. She sees the photograph; she touches the rope; she reads the note. Then she does something unexpected—she takes the note, hides the body, and returns home. Three days later, a threatening letter arrives on her doorstep.

That's it. A single thought. A single thought that had me asking myself what comes next? It has grown significantly in my mind and on the page since I began, January 4th, 2018.

I look forward to sharing more about my work eventually, but please forgive me if my details are a bit sparse for the time being: I subscribe to the notion that a first draft is best written with the door closed. I'll likely get chattier down the line once I reach the editing stage.
